Missing Blessings

How many blessings do we miss out on because of our disobedience to God?   God gives us instructions on things that concern our lives. He tells us what to do, but because it’s not what we want to do, or it’s not the way we feel like it should be done we disobey God. Have you ever considered that God tells us specific things to do, because there is something that he is trying to accomplish in our lives? But because we don’t understand we decide to do things our way because it’s is comfortable for us, or we feel like it should be done a different way.   I have learned in my walk with God, that sometimes God gets us out of our comfort zone, because he has something greater for us, but we must learn to be obedient to his instructions.  When we are not obedient to what God says, even if it’s uncomfortable for us, we are outside Gods will and we loose out on whatever blessings he has for us.  Proverbs 3: 5 & 6 will always be one of my favorite scriptures. It says ...

You are who God says you Are.

You are who God says you Are.    You know what I like about the Lord. He talks to us, and he lets us know what it is that he has for our lives. It could be something big, or it could be something small, but he will always let us know what he has for us.    But we always try to find a way to not be what God has call us to be or do what he has called us to do.    As I was sitting here, God reminded me of a scripture in Jeremiah, and I went back and read the first chapter of Jeremiah.    It opened with a conversation between the Lord and Jeremiah. See, Jeremiah thought that he could use the excuse of him being a child when God told him that he ordained him as a prophet.   But God had already let him know he knew who Jeremiah was even before he was born, and he could not use him being a child as an excuse.    Jeremiah 1: 7& 8 says  “But the Lord said unto me, Say not I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee...

Never Alone

Find yourself a quiet place and just reflect. Think back on all you have gone through in your life.    How did you handle it? Did you feel alone? Did you feel like it was something that you could not handle on your own?   We all have had that feeling in our lives. We all have felt like we could not handle the situation that we were placed in. We even question why we were going through what we were going through.   We might have found ourselves saying “I cannot handle this. This is too much for me.” Or we may be finding ourselves questioning why things are happing.    But I am gaining the understanding as I grow older, that it is in our going through the things we do, it makes us grow stronger in the Lord.  Why, because we come to the understanding that God is there with us no matter what.    This is why I want you to be somewhere quiet and just think.     Think back on all you have gone through in your life. All the good things and ...

Lets get Serious about Our Walk with God.

Image
We all have seen someone they say that they are Christian and that they love the Lord. They say they go to church, and talk about how much they love the Lord. But if you be around them long enough, you see that they don’t live what they are talking about. More than likely, it’s the way they interact with others, or even how they speak that gives them away. And we look at that person and start questioning them about their walk with God.  Now they say that they walk with the Lord, but their actions don't show otherwise. And we are quick to say that their walk with God needs work.  But let’s take a good look at ourselves for a moment. Are we taking our walk with God seriously? It’s easy for us to look at others and have an opinion about how they act and  come to the conclusion that their walk with God is not where it needs to be.   But When are we going to look at ourselves and take inventory on our own lives? That is a valid question, because it is easy for us to ...

How to become better for 2026

As we are a few days into the New Year, I want us to keep a few things in mind. We need to Keep God first.                    The most important thing is that we need to make sure we are keeping God first in our lives. One way we can do that is to make sure we are spending more time with God. As much as we spend time looking at social media feeds, we need to spend that time talking to God.     Studying Gods word is one way we can spend more time with him. When we spend time in the bible, we get a better understanding of who God is to us and what he truly means to us. It shows us what God has for our lives and how we can achieve what the calling he has for our lives.  We must take time also in prayer.  But we have to make sure that it is not a one sided conversation. We must be able to take the time and listen to what God has to say to us.  Listening for the voice ...

God, I Thank You

Image
Saying, “God, I Thank You”, sound good to say, but have you ever thought about what you are thanking God for? I have always heard people say, “God, I thank you”, and in my mind I would always think, what are you thanking him for? It was not until I got a little bit older and wiser that I realize, sometimes that is all you have to say. Just thinking back on everything that God had brought me through, I can’t help but to say “Thank you”! Psalms 107:1 says:     “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” That is powerful! Because he has done so much in our lives that we need to say “thank you”! It so powerful, it is repeated in the Bible several times: Psalms 136:1  “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (If you continue reading Psalms 136 in its entirety, it list why we should give thanks unto the Lord.) 1 Chronicles 16:34  “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy end...
