I am Something out the Ordinary
I am Something out of the Ordinary
Me and a friend of mine were having a conversation about different movies and TV shows that we have watched over the years. We talk about the different shows that we watch to give the other different ideas of what would be good to watch.
Well, I started naming some of the shows that I love to watch, and my friend got quiet. I asked her what was wrong, and she started laughing and told me that one of the shows that I liked to watch, Stranger Things, was not something that I would normally watch. She told me that she knew me and that I was not the type of person to watch Syfy shows. Which honestly, I don’t normally watch shows like that, but that is a great show for me.
But, when we got off the phone, I started thinking back on the conversation and how she stated it was out of the ordinary for me!
What! No one has ever said that to me before. But I had thought on how I have changed over the years,
Not change as far as the movies and TV shows that I watch, but just being different in so many ways.
One think I thank God for is helping me to realize that I am something out of ordinary.
So, I looked other ways of saying “something out the ordinary” and a list of words came up:
Remarkable, extraordinary, exceptional, unexpected, surprising, exciting, memorable, striking, impressive, outstanding, strange, unfamiliar, unique, and different.
The two words that stood out the most was unique and different.
Then I thought about it. I am not like other people. I am unique and different.
And that is ok.
We as Christians need to realize that we are not the same as the world. We are different from others. We are unique in our own way.
Psalms 139:14 says
“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that that my soul knoweth right well.”
God made us that way. He made all of us in different ways.
He made us in the image of himself, but we are not all the same.
Funny thing is, I am an identical twin. Me and my sister look just alike, but we are totally different people.
Same thing with us being Christians.
When we made that profession of faith when we got saved, we became a “new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
That means we were no longer like we use to be. We have to change our lives to be different from the world. We have to live our lives for God and God alone.
I am proud to be something out the ordinary. It means that I am living like God told me to live. I don’t walk and talk the same. I don’t act like I use to act.
Being something out the ordinary for Christ is how I try to live my day to day life.
My prayer is always that people can see God living in me. I want to be able to stand out from the world and people can see that I am something out the ordinary.
God blessed.
