What a Friend  We all have friends that we have in our lives. Some of us have friends that we have known since grade school, and some of us have friends that we met over the years.  I have some good friends in my life. Two in particular, I have known for over 30 years.  I would do anything for my friends. Or would I?  How many of us can say that we would lay down our lives for a friend?  Something to think about right? Sure, it is easy to say "Yea, I would lay down my life for my best friend", but if the time came to do just that, will you will be willing? Jesus is a TRUE friend. He was willing to lay down his life so we could be saved. In John 19, it accounts what happened to Jesus when he was crucified on the cross. It shows all he had to endure just so we could be saved.  John 19:1-3 says: "Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.   Why read the Bible?  I was having a conversation with my children and I asked them a question.  " Why do we need to study the Bible?" And they gave me some great answers. One said "because it will help us" and one answered " because that is what we are suppose to do". Both answers were true, but I had to take it a step further and explain to them why it was important  for us as christians to read and study the Bible.  The word of God is so many things in our lives.  It will help us if we would dive deep into it.   When we get in to the Bible, we will find out so many thing that we can apply to our lives.  The Word of God Guides Us This weeks scripture for the week is Psalm 119:105 which says:  "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto our path".
